10lbs of Wire, Wits, and "Try Me" Energy

Meet Bertie

If little dog syndrome were an Olympic sport, Bertie would medal and then bark at the judge.

This wiry king was found running a Fresno apartment complex like a one-dog HOA skinny, scrappy, and suspiciously in charge. No one knew where he came from, but Bertie made it clear: he was home until further notice. All it took to earn his trust? A few bites of wet food and the correct amount of respect.

Now that hes safe, Berties working on filling out his tiny frame and softening up that “don’t test me” exterior. He came with a flaky skin situation thats healing nicely. Just a little extra texture to match the attitude. Think of it as seasoning…?

Despite the sass, Bertie is very trainable. He moves fast and needs someone who knows how to set the tone from day one. He’s agile, crate trained, house trained (to current structure), andv doesn’t get tangled in your feet like some of the others smol floofs. He can be a couch buddy, a shadow, or an outdoor adventure buddy, as long as you're leading the pack.

Things to Know:

- Selective with both people and dogs. He's got opinions.

- Cat-friendly, or rather: cat-unbothered.

- Goofy playstyle, but not high energy. He's more of a zoom-and-nap specialist.

- Grazer eater. No big feeding needs.

- Not a fan of water. Like, not even a little.

- Fireworks sensitivity: unknown.

Ideal Home:

- A structured environment with someone who respects small dog spice.

- Possibly active or outdoorsy type hooman. Bertie would be down for some chaos - He would also make a great companion for someone who just wants a buddy to hang with.

- No young kids. Bertie has zero interest in being a family dog mascot.

- Someone confident enough to enforce boundaries but soft enough to earn his heart.

Non-negotiables:

- Owner must understand and honor the small-but-mighty spirit of Little Dog Syndrome.

Bertie doesnt need a lap, he needs a kingdom. Smol throne provided upon adoption.
