Meet Laney
Estimated 1 year old | 35 lbs |
Breed: “Central Valley Mutt” Special
Laney was picked up as a stray in March 2025, likely having never experienced a true home before. But even after just one month in a stable environment, her potential is undeniable. She’s sleek, shiny, and stunning—with pearly white teeth, a black coat that disappears in the dark, and a personality that lights up the room.
At around 35 pounds, Laney is compact but strong, and may fill out closer to 40. She’s shown excellent house manners—crate trained, clean indoors, and settling beautifully. Leashes and harnesses are still new to her, but she’s wildly intelligent and eager to learn. The kind of dog who will master anything you’re willing to teach her.
Laney’s play style is thoughtful and adaptive. Whether with high-energy dogs or gentle, low-key pups, she matches their vibe and plays accordingly. She’s social, engaged, and fast. Like—relay-race closer fast. She’s the one you want on your team when it’s time to get sh*t done.
Laney does well with cats under supervision—she’s curious but responsive, and can be redirected easily. With kids, she’s sensitive and needs structure. She startles with sudden movements, so a calm and communicative environment will set her up best. She jumps with joy and enthusiasm, so she’s not the dog you just toss in the backyard—she’s the one you bring with you.
Laney thrives with mental stimulation, consistent boundaries, and someone who wants a sidekick they can grow with. She’s the kind of dog who bonds deeply. She wants to be your project, your partner, your proudest before-and-after.
Located in California’s Central Valley, Laney is adoptable throughout the U.S. and Canada. She’s currently searching for a dedicated long-term foster and is open to foster-to-adopt or adoption.
