Kenneth & Jet Bio
Bonded. Bruised. Blooming.
Found on the side of a rural road in Central California, one scavenging for food, (Kenneth) the other (Jet) lying injured.
These two aren't just a bonded pair, they're trauma survivors. The start to their story encompasses EVERYTHING heartbreaking about animal rescue.. I’m takin abuse, neglect, known ownership, abandonment, etc.. HOWEVER, that is NOT who they are now.
Meet Jet, an 8-year-old altered male bully mix weighing around 60 lbs who has come to LOVE his daily massages and extra love he gets during morning rotations (meds he needs for flakey skin). His counterpart, Kenneth, wounds are less visible.. He has never been handled by a hooman & can be jumpy at the slightest movements. He radiates love and a bit nervous energy in his daily movements. He wants love, and has made remarkable strides towards being able to process & receive it.
Kenneth is GOOFY. And brilliant dog. Highly trainable. He LOVES toys, lives for a
game of fetch, and will absolutely melt into a puddle for lavender, white noise, or a cold room with his favorite stuffy. He’s incredibly sensitive, startles easily, needs his space dialed in, and leans hard into emotional safety.
Jet, terrified of hoses and anything that reminds him of chaos, finds peace in structure. He isnt a water fan like Kenneth, but he loves toys, routine, and the quiet security of his brother's presence. They both get along well with cats. They're crate trained, house trained (to my structure), and free-fed with no issues.
These two will need time. They will need someone who understands how to move slowly, gently, and with purpose. They'll need decompression space, quiet energy, and a calm human willing to let their timeline unfold naturally.
Things to know:
- Sensitive to loud noises. Escape artists if startled.
- Should never be rushed. Startles at sudden movement still happen.
- Cat-friendly, dog-selective (not interested in chaos).
- Must be placed together; separation is not an option.
- Not suited for young kids or overstimulating homes.
Ideal home:
- Trauma-informed foster or foster-to-adopt.
- Someone with a quiet space, time, and an understanding of nervous system regulation.
- Bonus points if you believe in the healing power of stuffed animals and AC.
Kenneth & Jet are not fixer-uppers. They're restoration pieces, ready to be loved, not just saved.
